Lumber for Framing, Beams, and Support
PTM supplies #1 Southern Yellow Pine, spruce, treated wood, LVLs, laminated posts, 3-ply posts, and I-joists for different framing and structural needs. From beams and joists to wall studs and engineered support, the goal is to match the lumber to the job.
Available Lumber Options
Southern Yellow Pine
#1 grade Southern Yellow Pine in common building sizes, including 2×4, 2×6, 2×8, 2×10, and 2×12. Southern Yellow Pine is commonly used for beams, joists, pole barn framing, and manufactured floor trusses.
For pole barns, larger sizes such as 2×10 and 2×12 are often used for beams, while 2×6 can be used for horizontal framing members.
Spruce
PTM also carries spruce lumber, including High Line and #2 or Better options. Spruce is commonly used for wall framing, including pre-cut studs for house walls.
Available pre-cut stud lengths may include 8-foot, 9-foot, and 10-foot options.
Engineered Wood
PTM supplies engineered wood products for projects that need added strength or specific structural support. Available options include LVLs, laminated posts, 3-ply posts, and I-joists.
LVLs are engineered for strength and can be a stronger option than standard Southern Yellow Pine in the right application.
Treated Wood
PTM carries treated wood for building applications that call for added protection. Treated wood, except for posts, is #1 Southern Yellow Pine.
Treatment specifications can be reviewed once the updated treatment information is available.
